About Global Food for Hunger, Inc.
Global Food for Hunger, Inc. is a 501(C)3 non-profit organisation dedicated to eradicating hunger and poverty worldwide. We believe in a holistic approach that addresses the physical, educational and emotional needs of individuals and communities. Our mission is to provide nutritious food, quality education, and necessary support to those in need, empowering them to break free from the cycle of poverty and lead fulfilling lives.
Our Inspiration
Srila Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON, once witnessed the disturbing sight of children fighting with dogs for scraps of food. Deeply touched by what he saw, he declared, “No one within a ten-mile radius of our centres should go hungry.” He emphasised the importance of compassion and service to others. He asked his followers to ensure that no one, especially children, should go hungry. With this story of compassion as our inspiration, we have instituted food distribution programmes benefitting millions all over the world, including the Akshaya Patra programme.
Srila Prabhupada built a house in which the whole world could live. He worked tirelessly to uplift everyone, regardless of age, nationality, religion, gender, caste, or social status. He practically demonstrated how we can unite in peace, friendship and prosperity by realising the nature of the human spirit.
At Global Food for Hunger Inc., we strive to carry forward Srila Prabhupada’s legacy of compassion and service to create a happy and harmonious world where no one suffers from hunger or distress.
